PPE

  The PPE Personal Protection Equipment is the most important part of the firefighters world. PPE IS WHAT KEEPS THE FIREFIGHTER ALIVE AND WELL.

The helmet to protect us from falling objects, the face shield protects from heat and debris. The boot, coat and pants protects us from hundreds of degrees of heat that is incurred in an average house fire.

The Air Pack (SCBA Self-contained Breathing Apparatus) is the air we breathe as we search for fire or a loved one. These new units have heads up display in the mask that lets the firefighter know when the air is getting low. These units have voice amplification

in the past we had to holler at each other to communicate.
