As you know computers are a part of every day life from the gas station to the pharmacy. It is very necessary in the fire service. The government requires reports on every fire incident and the only way to send them now is via the Internet. The list of hazardous material is in the thousands and more are added everyday. Mapping programs help in finding even the most out of the way locations. In the near future we are going to organize a group of volunteers to go to every business over the next several months to gather contact data and floor plan the premises to better, quicker and safer attack fires. This will take hundreds of hours but is needed; our current data is old or non-existent in most cases. To your left is the laptop that is in our lead pumper it is full of information that may be needed in almost any emergency.
